Driving For Tips: How to Maximize Your Pay
500 Ride Share drivers took our survey and answered questions related to tips, offering water and interior cleanliness. We then analyzed the results to isolate each variable and discover how much (if any) impacted the size and likelihood of receiving a tip. Very few factors had an impact on the amount (water, tipping sign) and only 5 factors seemed to impact the frequency (shown in the graphic).
Then we compared drivers who employed all three of the most effective factors (tipping sign, water, clean the interior every time you drive) to drivers who employed none of those strategies. We found that while each factor independently increases the likelihood of getting a tip by a marginal amount – layering them seems to provide an exponential boost.
